Microsoft Finds Reason to Extend Life of Windows XP PDF Print

Thanks to new UMPC devices like the EeePC and the host of EeePC ripoffs like the HP 2133 and Cloudbook, Windows XP's life will be extended until 2010.

Microsoft plans to stop selling Windows XP this year but with the huge success of the Linux based EeePC, Microsoft wants to make sure that they aren't left out, so they are extending the availability of Windows XP so that it can be purchased for use on all of these new ultra portable notebooks by manufacturers.

Retail versions of XP won't be available in stores once the supply runs out.

If you have not had a chance to check out the EeePC I highly suggest it. I got one in January and it's the best bang for my buck product I've purchased in a long time (other than Pinball Classics for the Wii, but that's a different story).

Want to know more about the EeePC? Check out: EeePC Homepage & EeeUser.
