Asus Eee BoxWell pretty much everyone has gone crazy over the low cost and highly portable EeePC and ASUS has decided to follow up that success with a low-cost and and very compact PC.

The Eee Box isn't the first low cost small form factor PC to hit the market; the A-Open Mini Cube and Apple Mini are two systems that come to mind. But the real deal is that the Eee Box is much cheaper than most boxes out there now and will come with an Intel Atom processor, the only downside is that it doesn't come with a CD-ROM.

The base Eee Box configuration will retail for $269 and feature a 80GB SATA HDD, 1GB of memory and Linux. There also will be two versions that cost $299, first is a Windows XP version and the second is a Linux version with a 160GB hard drive.

If you want some images of the Eee Box you can check out the images @ AnandTech.
